Latricia Ledet,
Board Member
Latricia Ledet, affectionately known as
“Trish” by her friends, grew up in a
very small town on the panhandle of Florida. Even
as a child, Latricia had aspirations to be a performer.
“Small town, Big Dreams” as they say.
After winning her first trophy at the age of 9 in
a local competitive cheerleading camp, Latricia
knew that she had found her niche. She competed
and won the event two consecutive years before going
on to be a member of the first ever “Jr. High”
cheerleading squad in her school. Little did she
know, that would not be her only “first”
in cheerleading, for The ROAR would follow some
14 years later.

After cheering Jr. High, Latricia went on to the
Jr. Varsity and Varsity Squads prior to heading
off to college to cheer for the Florida A&M
Rattlers in Tallahassee.
Latricia graduated with honors from Florida A&M
University where she obtained a Bachelor’s
Degree in Computer Information Systems and a Master’s
of Applied Social Sciences Degree in Public Administration.
She started a job shortly after college and went
on to a 15 year career in computer technology that
ended in 2003. It was that year that her first daughter,
Kyra, was born, and she left the technology field
to pursue others that were less demanding. At present,
Latricia works part-time at a local community college
and owns several businesses. She has two daughters,
Kyra Diane and Zoe Olivia (4 and 2 years of age),
which she raises along with her husband of seven
years, Sherman.
Latricia was member of the inaugural ROAR squad
and cheered for 3 seasons. Mostly known for her
60,000 mile trek the first season between Jacksonville
and Tallahassee, Latricia moved to Jacksonville
in 1996 and credits her involvement with the Jaguar
organization as one of her most proud accomplishments.
Latricia was raised by her mother and grandmother
to always be mindful of the needs of others. If
a heart will be touched or a dream inspired, Latricia
is always ready to help, and her commitment is consistent.
She is in the third year of her “Spirit Groove”
Cheer and Dance Camp, an event she started for young
girls in her home town and she continues to participate
in speaking engagements and other motivational endeavors
to inspire, uplift, and encourage others. She is
a proud member of one of the largest women’s
organizations in the world, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Inc. Delta Sigma Theta is known for its public service
commitment to both national and international communities.
When not involved in charitable work or spending
time with family, Latricia enjoys traveling and
acting. She has many credits to her name including
a Best Supporting Actress theatrical award, movie
roles, and several commercials.
