(Jacksonville, FL) The Professional Cheerleaders Alumni, Inc. comprised of former Professional NFL Cheerleaders, are launching the Fourth Annual Audition Prep Classes to prepare ladies (17 & over) interested in auditioning for professional or semi-professional cheerleading or dance teams. Many pro teams in Jacksonville begin holding auditions as early as February for the 2011 season, and these NFL Alumni are offering their experience and advice to help make the cut.

Audition Prep Classes will be facilitated by NFL alumni cheerleaders who will instruct and mentor attendees in prep classes held every other Saturday from January through March at Bailey’s Powerhouse Gym on Baymeadows Road in Jacksonville.     Read the rest of this entry »

On Thursday, May 7, 2009 Professional Cheerleaders Alumni (PCA) member Jessica H. conducted tryouts for the Mandarin Christian High School Cheerleaders. Jessica has recently taken over the squad and is anxious to get the team started. She called on fellow PCA member Amanda M. to judge the auditions.

“A small group of 12 wide-eyed girls ranging in age from 14 to 17. Several were quite nervous but we all knew that a small smile from the judges table can sometimes help their fears. We watched a short warm-up and stretch. Then the action began. Each girl was judged on their appearance, jumps, splits, motions, technique of pom routine, and spirit. We were very impressed with the girls in every group. In the end, 9 girls were selected after a tally from the judges scores. We can’t wait to catch up with the team in the fall to see how well they perform as a squad. We wish them good luck!”

On Saturday, April 12, 2008, PCA Members Darlene, Cheryl, Marsha and Jocelyn were invited to judge the Communities in Schools’ TEAM UP After School Program’s 9th Annual Cheerleading Competition held at Edward Waters College. Six Elementary and seven middle schools showed off their talents in front of an audience of more than 3,000 people. Each judge received a certificate of appreciation and an official event t-shirt.
