Archive for the ‘Non-Charity Appearances’ Category

On Saturday, July 31st, 2011, seven PCA members participated in Wal-Mart’s Back to School Rally at the Jacksonville Landing.  Members included Kim Balazic, Monica Anderson, Amanda Upton, Missy Metz, Autumn DeVries, Dana Dorrell, and Melissa George.  Each alumni committed to three hours of passing out Lipton Tea samples to the hot crowd that came out.  It was a wonderful event that gave away thousands of school supplies free to the community.  There was a lot of live entertainment including a performance from the Roar.  The PCA hopes we can continue this partnership with Pepsi, who was also a sponsor, to have many more appearances.  Each PCA member received a cute Lipton shirt to wear with our logo on the back.

PCA Members Donna and Anita with Jacksonville Jaguars Alumni Mike Peterson

June 16, 2011, Plant City, FL – Professional Cheerleaders Alumni was asked to support Mike Peterson, a former Jacksonville Jaguars player now with the Alanta Falcons, and other professional players at the 1st Annual Mike Peterson one day Football Challenge Camp this summer in Plant City, FL. PCA members Donna Winsor and Anita Haymon were teamed up with representatives from Sports Authority to stuff donated backpacks from Premier Athletic Association with all kinds of goodies from tee shirts to sport bottles, coupons and items from Sports Authority and other local vendors. Donna and Anita also took photos with many of the children and some of the former NFL players who represented Premier Athletic Association. The company is owned by PCA’s own Latricia Ledet’s husband Sherman.

The day was filled with teams from varies school  from all over Florida to compete against each other in games of flag football. The boys were thrilled to show off their skills and the pros shared their skills with the teams as well. Teams were served lunch and Mike gave a pep talk to the boys about football, but most importantly about life and the importance of staying in school.

Anita said: “I must say it was a very fun and fulfilling day to have been around such inspiring young athletes that want to be and do their best, both on the field and off in their schools and communites. It was a pleasure to represent Pro Cheerleaders Alumni and I look forward to attending this event next year.”

During PCA’s 4th Annual Audition Prep Class’s February session, Alumni Member Jade was a guest choreographer, teaching an NFL style routine to the class participants. See the video below.

Guest Experts are brought in by Professional Cheerleaders Alumni, Inc. so that participants can use the resources of the PCA network and partners to help them better prepare for their pro or semi pro cheerleading auditions.

“Bringing in choreographers with different styles of dance helps our participants learn to pick up different dance styles and learn from different instructors. Having our own alumni like Jade, is a great way for our members to share their talents and PCA’s mission.” says Kristin Doakes, President of Professional Cheerleaders Alumni.
